Redmond

The Redmond Neighborhood

Redmond, Washington is located 15 miles east of Seattle. It was founded in the 1870’s and was called Salmonburg due to the plentiful salmon population in its rivers and streams.  Renamed Redmond in 1883, it is now a booming town with a population of over 70,000.

Redmond was first settled by Native Americans over 10,000 years ago. Today it is perhaps best known as the prosperous global headquarters to Microsoft.
