The Newcastle Neighborhood
Newcastle is a small and prosperous eastside city, located between Bellevue, Renton and Issaquah. It was originally one of the region's first coal mining areas, starting in the 1870s, and also an important timber hub. Today it is a thriving community of 12,000.
In CNN Money's 2011 rankings of best places to live in the US, Newcastle was in the top twenty. It ranked 17th in Newsweek's 2009 rankings of best places to live.
